Entry Deadline:<\/strong>\u00a0Wednesday, April 23, 2025 if the\u00a0MVM Entry Form<\/a>\u00a0<\/mark>is submitted by email\/mail to the Chair\u00a0\u00a0or 1 hour before the first event if if is submitted in person to the Chair at the dog\u2019s first MVM event.\u00a0<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Most Versatile Belgian Malinois Award (MVBMA) and Reserve Most Versatile Belgian Malinois Award (RMVBMA) are given to Belgian Malinois at the National Specialty that excel and qualify in at least three different venues.  There is no fee for entering the Most Versatile Malinois award and membership in the ABMC is not required.  However, the dog being entered must be a Belgian Malinois.   The Most Versatile Malinois and Reserve Most Versatile Malinois will receive trophies matching those of the National Specialty\u2019s Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex. The award will be presented at the Banquet on Saturday, May 10, 2025.<\/em> The winner of the award need not be present to win. If the winner is not present awards will be mailed at the winner’s expense.

Dogs must earn points from within at least three of the five Roman-numeral venues below to be eligible for the Most Versatile Malinois Award.  The five venues are: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I. Conformation<\/strong>\u00a0(Saturday, May 10th) \/\u00a0Sweepstakes<\/strong>\u00a0(Friday, May 9th)
II. Herding<\/strong>\u00a0(MVM points are from\u00a0eitherSaturday May 3rd\u00a0C Course\u00a0OR Monday, May 5th\u00a0A Course Trial 1)<\/s>.
Regretfully, Herding<\/a> was cancelled 4\/2\/25 due to more damage than had been initially thought to this area from the March 14th tornado. The criteria for MVM eligibility remains the same – a dog must qualify in at least 3 of the 4 remaining venues to be eligible.<\/font color>
III. Obedience<\/strong> \/\u00a0Rally<\/strong>\u00a0(Thursday May 8th)
IV. Tracking\u00a0<\/strong>(Sunday, May 4th)
V. Agility\/Preferred Agility<\/strong>\u00a0(Wednesday, May 7th) Note: The Agility and Foy Trent premiums list the the MVM agility trial date incorrectly as being the Tuesday, May 6th agility trial but it’s actually the Designated National Specialty agility trial which is being held on Wednesday May 7th!<\/strong><\/em><\/mark>

Exhibitors may enter as many venues and classes within a venue as they wish but only the single run the results in the highest number of points within that venue is counted for that venue\u2019s points.\u00a0For example, in the III. Obedience\/Rally venue, qualifying in Open in Obedience earns 4 points and qualifying in Master in Rally earns 5 points.\u00a0The highest number of points earned in a single run from this venue would be 5 points.\u00a0 MVM points are\u00a0not\u00a0added together within any one venue, only between the different venues. Points from each venue are added together for the total of MVM points. Consult the MVM Point Schedule<\/a> for more details, including the tie-breaking criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
